Wedding Plans

Hi everyone,

I have emmersed myself into the monsterous task of planning my wedding. It's two years away roughly May 2012.
We don't have a budget and we have no savings apart from the credit cards we already own (£950 total). I'm attempting to be realistic in my judgement of how much the wedding will cost (approx £10,000) but i've got loads of cost cutting tips which should knock it under that.
We're both looking to get married in a church, and for our reception to beclose to our local church, i don't want everyone to have to travel far. Unfortunately in Folkestone we're not blessed with the nicest reception venues.

Here are our options:
  • Port Lympne Wild Animal Park (a bit far out)
  • The Hythe Imperial
  • The Grand Hotel

These are our best options otherwise it's just too much cost and too far.

We've been quoted £600(ish) for a DJ and the Transport all in one obviously it will rise due to the location. Even so it's a damn good price as most entertainers expect a lot for the job.
We spoke to a Toastmaster who has quoted us £300 until September 2012!! Which i thought was pretty good, although we might ask the Best Man to help with the proceedings.

Theres a beautiful cake we've seen although it's pretty pricey, coming in at £650. I'm thinking of doing Cupcake Wedding Cake, so the cupcakes can double up as desserts and cakes for people to take home, also thinking of doing a square top layer so we can have a cake topper.

The colours i'm going to go for are either; gold and deep red (not burgundy), ivory and gold or ivory/white.

I'm goingto create my own sweet stall buying various glassware and bowls etc to fill with nostalgic sweets, definately a winner with the kids :) and big kids like me :)

I've seen a couple of dresses i like in the bridal magazines, but predictably no prices captioned but all of them are at the London Earls Court Wedding Show in October (1st-3rd), which i'm debating whether to attend or not. I can only attend two events (up until my wedding day) and seeing as the dresses i like are supposed to be at the show this year... it might be worth it.

Any advice is greatly appreciated :-)

Love

xx

Hi guys

Hi there guys,

Disastrous news for Twilight fans like me.... I am sorry to break it to you all officially... But Mr Edward Cullen (AKA Robert Pattinson) is dating Bella Swann (AKA Kristen Stewart) in real life. Now there was speculation about their relationship, and everytime R-Patz vehemently denied it.... a fact that i wished still remained true.

I'm sure that Kristen Stewart is a lovely person, trust me i would give my right arm to be as lucky and fortunate as her, but her role as 'Bella Swann' is extremely wooden and poker-faced and for that i can never forgive her (or the director). While the movies were brilliant in their own right, they don't live up to the book, except for The Cullen Family (for obvious reasons)

Anyway I'm just about to list some items on ebay, you'll know its me :)

****Update****
Tidied under my bed, was looking for my passport, but instead i managed to find my old ipod :) and lots of things to ebay. I also managed to fill our blue recycling bag with lots of old magazines and crap bits of paper and LISTS - OMG they were endless!!!
I was meant to do all my ebaying and that tonight, but i'm just so knackered i actually can not be bothered!

Hiya Everybody!!

Hello!

As you can see i'm cracking on with 'Upping my income' by sorting out eBay stuff etc, I might actually get something done today :)
I've had a headache all day :( not good when i been at a computer all day as well :(
Again this evening i've been on http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/ lurking in the forums around my favourite threads. I'm part of the Sealed Pots Challenge two years running and so far this year i have saved £65.53 in my pots (i have one that counts it :D), so doing reasonably well so far.
I've finally uploaded the pictures from my birthday, i will share some of the "nicer" ones with you as i don't want to humiliate myself :)

This is a picture of me, my fiance and our mate Callum (excuse the blurriness)

My fiance (kissing), Sammy (our best mate), Dave Junior, Me, Ellie(our best mate) & Callum(BIL)

This is me and my work mates :)

And this is one of me, Dave, Sammy and Ellie.

Ok I'm done with my photo fix for the day :) hehe :) We look so drunk :)
I better sort out some dinner, Spaghetti and Italian sauce tonight - yum yum!

New Year, New Start...

Hi everyone,
Well after some time to myself I'm back :) Had the time off to reflect and sort my life out... I must say i didn't get very far :) haha
I'll give you a summarised catch up of while I was gone:
I nearly fell off the 'food is good not evil wagon'
I had my 18th Birthday
I got Engaged on my 18th Birthday
I've managed to shift a bit of weight
I've been going out more and socialising more
Lately I have been living on the www.moneysavingexpert.com website especially the 'Up Your Income' Forums. Right now it is my lifeline, i'm not in debt or anything but I have been sorely tempted by the credit cards and loans... I know BAD IDEA!! I have a holiday that i need to save for as well as a wedding and trying to keep my mother and our families head above water...
I'm just worried that it's not enough :S
So my plan of action to 'Up my Income' is to:
  • eBay- as much junk as physically possible
  • Sell my ipod on www.mopay.co.uk
  • Sell my old mobile phone on the internet
  • Sell CD/Games/DVDs etc on www.musicmagpie.co.uk
  • Write reviews on www.dooyou.co.uk
  • Daily Clicks
  • Quidco -(I've registered my card to the high street service so that certain i earn cashback at certain high street stores)
  • Play online Bingo via www.bingoport.co.uk

I'm also toying with the idea of setting up an eBay shop, but i really need some inspiration...? I have no idea where to start, what to sell what not to sell? Any ideas???

Feel free to leave comments or advice

Thanks
JS

Hello everyone,

It’s been a long time since my last post, these past few weeks have been a bit of a roller-coaster in so many ways, hence no posts (and me breaking my promise in my last post).
I’ve been trying to find myself again as I feel like I’ve lost myself inside my own body.
I have no idea of who I am, what defines me, my strengths, weaknesses, my fashion sense – EVERYTHING about me has gone, I feel like a shell, having to build myself back up piece by millions of pieces.

This ‘self discovery’ path that I’m on is a continual, never-ending, unforeseen roller coaster.
How do you dull the ache in your entire body, when you’re not even sure what is causing it.
How can you be yourself when you’re not even sure what is yourself, let alone how to be comfortable with it.
It’s such a strange feeling, like I am flicking through personalities, flicking through all the aspects of myself and not coming to a decision. You know when there’s nothing on and you flick through all the channels not really listening or looking, or even stopping long enough to decide whether you might like it.

I’ve sold two items on eBay tonight, one of them went for just over double what I paid for it, and on went for £3 over what I originally paid for it, so I’m exceptionally pleased with that, I now have an extra £50 to take Christmas Shopping.

I must admit I have been looking at (and making) some mood boards on the Internet to try and get a grasp of my fashion sense and style. Building blocks huh… I can’t post the mood boards on here as someone else has made them and I haven’t asked to use them :)

Does anyone know where I can find a pretty red beaded bracelet??

MIA....Again :D

Hello everyone :D
How the devil are you all??
I have been dead busy lately but hey ho :D
Ipoints keep sending me emails on free stuff, so thought what the hell, and paid £5 odd for a "free" personalised calendar (P&P and glossy paper) ideal for mum's hamper. And I paid P&P for a "Free" personalised pen, ideal for auntie's hamper.
Also brought Liquorice flavour Jelly Beans £2.49 and Stawberry Jam flavoured Jelly Beans £2.49 off eBay.
I have work early tomorrow morning then i've got to run to my doctors and then go to the next town for an emergency dental appointment - I'm in big trouble :(
I know i'm not being very creative lately, although i am getting all the bits ready to start being creative but i pinky promise that i will post something creative at the weekend!!
With Love
